Putney Terms of Service

Welcome to Putney Vehicle Hire Services. These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your use of our website carhireputney.co.uk and our vehicle rental services. By using our services you accept these Terms and agree to the policies and procedures set out here.

1. Putney Rental Agreement

All Putney vehicle rentals are governed by a detailed Rental Agreement issued at booking confirmation or when you collect the vehicle. The agreement sets out the specific terms, conditions, insurance cover, fees, and your obligations for that rental. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail for that booking.

2. Putney Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Putney, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old (age limits may differ by vehicle class, and additional fees may apply for drivers under 25). Hold a valid, full driving licence appropriate to the vehicle class, held for the minimum period set out in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid identification, a payment card in the hirer’s name and proof of address when collecting a Putney vehicle.

3. Putney Booking and Payment

  • Bookings may be made via our website, by phone, or in person at our Putney location. A booking deposit may be required to confirm your reservation. Final payment and any security deposit are normally due on collection of the vehicle. All prices are quoted in British pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable.

4. Putney Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off

  • At Putney, you must inspect the vehicle thoroughly at collection and report any existing damage immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by you and a Putney representative. Return the vehicle in the same condition as collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage identified on return will be assessed and charged according to Putney's damage schedule.

5. Putney Insurance and Liability

  • Basic third-party insurance is included with all Putney rentals. The Rental Agreement sets out full coverage details and applicable excess amounts. Optional insurance products may be offered to lower your out-of-pocket risk. We recommend you review these options carefully. You remain liable for damage or loss up to the excess specified in the Rental Agreement.

6. Cancellation and Amendments

Putney's cancellation and amendment policies vary by booking type and notice period. Refer to your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for the specific terms. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges.

7. Putney Prohibited Uses

You must not use the Putney vehicle for:

  • Use of Putney vehicles for illegal purposes or activities. Participation in racing, rallying, off-roading, or other hazardous pursuits. Transporting hazardous or regulated substances. Sub-letting vehicles to third parties or permitting unauthorized drivers. Operating a Putney vehicle while impaired by alcohol or drugs. Use for purposes beyond the vehicle’s intended function.

Breaching Putney's rules may lead to immediate rental cancellation and extra fees.

8. Putney Liability Limitation

To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Putney will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or loss of profits, data or business, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the total fees paid by you to Putney in the twelve months immediately preceding the claim.

9. Governing Law for Putney

These Terms for Putney are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under them will fall within the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes to Putney Terms

Putney may modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of Putney services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
